A “stone of courage,” Dragon Blood Stone is actually a variety of quartz that displays flecks and veins of red within an opaque green background; mined in South Africa with a Mohs hardness of 7. Legend says the stone is the remains of deceased ancient dragons; the green being the skin and the red the blood.
The deep red covering the back of this piece makes this piece more special. The green is usually more prominent in a crystal like this. This crystal is used to provide strength and courage in the face of tough life situations.
